Project Objective

Working as part of a People Innovation team, we designed and rolled out a unique talent management program. Based on research looking at how employees might work in the future, as well as the needs of the next generation leaders, we saw an opportunity to experiment with a innovation to allow internal employees to work as an internal freelancer.

This program addressed not only the needs of a flexible workforce, it also enabled business units across the enterprise to accelerate projects without the need to hire a full time or contract resource. Another advantage was that the freelance employee already had business acumen which enabled a very quick ramp to deliver value to the team.

The program was ahead of its time and won an award for its impact.
